March is another story. Not one of my favorites. It's actually pretty low on the totem pole, if not the bottom. My friend, Jenn, over at WithLuck, is trying to help me get past my dread of the month by focusing on the good: daylight savings arrives and then the start of spring (let's hope the weather gets the memo), which means free Ritas. (The first day of spring is actually Jenn's birthday, too!!)
So with the end of a month comes some of my favorite things from this month.
My birthday!
Getting older isn't always the best but I did not mind my birthday this year at all. My husband and I both took the day off from work and he made it very, very special.
First valentine's day with my husband. Even though hubby had class until late, we still had a very enjoyable and special weekend together.
My new toy aka Ninja blender. One of my birthday gifts from my husband was my ninja blender and I absolutely love it! I am pureeing as many things as I can get my hands on.
Which brings me to - soup.
I made a potato leak soup this month and it was delicious. I only made a little (only one leak to use up from a failed cauliflower soup) and I wish I made more - it was gone after one night.

Despite being injured for almost a week, I managed to get my stride back (for the most part) and got in some good runs this month. Here's hoping they continue and only get better as the days get longer and warmer!
And finally the Yoga Challenge - I have been trying my best to get some yoga in every day. How is everyone doing with trying to incorporate some yoga into their daily (or weekly) lives?
What are some of your favorite things from this past month?!
March is definitely not the top of my list either! It seems like it is the longest month of the year. No Monday holidays to speak of, it is still too cold where we live to really be doing much of anything outside. But, like you, I am going to try and look at the positive things! Like planning my garden :-)
ReplyDeleteYes! A garden - that is definitely something to stay positive about. I need to do that as well. We did not plant a garden last year and I was so upset. Really want to do that this year. I'll add that to my positive March list haha
Deletehahahaha I love how my birthday and all of the goodness of March creeped on in her. I love March! but it seems like your February was pretty darn good.
ReplyDeletehaha well it is a part of March!
DeleteSounds like a very sweet hubby! Love your bday cake - it is adorable! Hope you have a great March as well!
ReplyDeleteJess
Thank you - he really is hte best.
DeleteAs long as March warms up I'll be a happy camper haha
Oh, March! It seems so long and boring after all the Feb excitement ;) Hopefully we will get to start seeing signs of spring soon! I've never had potato leek soup, but that picture totally makes me want to try some!
ReplyDeleteI hope to make the soup again and post the recipe. Thank you so much for stopping by my blog!
DeleteMarch is sorta in between. I am ready for Spring but it's not quite here. I do love soup though and that one looks yummy.
ReplyDeleteHave fun at YOGA!
Happy March!

The one thing I miss when spring comes is soup - I would eat it all year round but my husband tends to not want hot soup on a hot summers night haha (though I manage to get it sometimes)
DeleteThanks for stopping by!!!
So glad that you've been able to get some yoga in every day. So glad you had a fun and special birthday!
ReplyDeleteThank you!!!
DeleteHow's your yoga challenge going? I actually just started a 6-wk beginner yoga class (ashtanga) this past week. I really like it so far.
ReplyDeleteIt's going pretty well. Life is just too busy though ya know? I wish I can do longer sessions.
DeleteReport back on how your yoga classes are going. I'd love to know!!
