superbowl recap

Before discussing the fun we all had last night, let's stop for a moment and thank Phil.
Punxsutawney Phil, the groundhog, did not see his shadow. This means it will be an early spring. Let's hope this holds some truth because these freezing temperatures are getting to be a bit much (though I did buy a new hat this weekend)

Anyways.... on to the Superbowl highlights.
How great was last night's game?? It was so close! I love games like last nights even more so when I don't have a team invested in it.

Not gonna lie - I sorta forgot to take photos in all of the excitement but here is what I managed..

Pizza, 7 layer dip with guacamole, tostitos, homemade French fries

Italian sub

not shown: dip and veggies, buffalo chicken pizza, roasted red pepper chips and ice cream cake... Major oops here. Sorry guys!

Now the commercials:

The m&m "I will do anything for love" made me chuckle
I'm a big Amy Poehler fan so I enjoyed her appearance on Best Buy
Also huge Big Bang Theory fan - oh, Leonard, cup outside your pants?
The Budweiser commercial with the Clydesdale horse, not going to lie, I cried...

What did you end up eating?
What were your favorite commercials of the night? Any you strongly disliked?

  1. I'm so glad he didn't see his shadow! I'm definitely ready for spring! That said, we got snow again yesterday, so I'm not sure how much that means! :)
I love super bowl food. There are always such yummy dips. I loved the chili dips and the buffalo chicken dips. I made peanut butter chocolate cookies. It's two peanut butter cookies on the outside and a chocolate filling inside.

  2. I know! There is snow in our 10 day forecast here as well. We can dream though, right?
Those cookies sound amazing! Is the recipe posted on your blog?

    1. We used the outside as a freezer... didn't work so well... hence no photo of a half melted, but yet still delicious, bowl of ice cream cake...(the leftovers made it to the freezer tho)

  5. Thanks for stopping by, Marlen.
I actually had to google the Groundhog seeing and not seeing his shadow to make sure I got it straight because it always seems like he sees his shadow!

  6. Looks like you had a good Super Bowl spread! Homemade french fries are the best! And yes let's hope the ground hog is right about his weather!

  7. So ready for spring and all of the new fashion colors (pales are my favorite) plus Lululemon has tons of cute PINK things during the spring season :) Your superbowl eats look fun! I did not watch it as I have been traveling all throughout Asia and over here NO ONE cares about the Superbowl its pretty funny! I did have to look up Beyonces performance because I read so much about it through everyones blogs + facebook news feed, it ROCKED! Love and shine CourtStar
